PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal object detector capable of appropriately setting an aria not to be measured.SOLUTION: A thermal object detector 1 includes an infrared thermopile array sensor 2 as a temperature detecting sensor and an arithmetic processing part 3. The infrared thermopile array sensor 2 receives infrared ray and outputs a radiation temperature image representing a radiation temperature distribution within an inspection range R. The arithmetic processing part 3 detects a thermal object O within the inspection range R based on the output from the infrared thermopile array sensor 2. The arithmetic processing part 3 switches the operation mode from a setting hold mode to a setting change mode based on a detection result of the thermal object O when the area of the thermal object O changes. The arithmetic processing part 3 changes the setting of the aria not to be measured which is an area to be excluded from the inspection range R in the setting change mode. At this time, the arithmetic processing part 3 changes the setting of the aria not to be measured according to the position of the thermal object O and the number of the thermal objects O within the inspection range R after a specific time has elapsed after switching to the setting change mode based on the detection result of the thermal object O. |
