PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of maintaining the conveyance timing of paper by reducing erroneous detection of paper caused by paper powder and the like.SOLUTION: When a signal Tr showing presence of detection is output twice in a row at an interval of first prescribed time &Dgr;t1 from an optical sensor, as a detected body which is detected by the optical sensor is determined to be recording paper, paper powder cannot be erroneously determined to be recording paper. Also, the first prescribed time &Dgr;t1 is subtracted from second prescribed time &Dgr;t2 to acquire correction time &Dgr;t3, the correction time &Dgr;t3 is counted from the timing when the detected body is determined to be recording paper, a paper feeding clutch is connected when the correction time &Dgr;t3 elapses, and the second recording paper is drawn out by a pickup roller. Thereby, distance interval between each recording paper can be kept at a constant distance. |
