<p>1307878 Electrostatic spraying ERNST MUELLER KG 18 June 1970 [30 June 1969] 29733/70 Heading B2F Electrostatic paint spraying is carried out using a gun with paint supplied via a pipe 23 to a rotating conical member 20, the paint being sprayed from a scattering edge 21, charged from a charging edge 22 and directed towards a workpiece to be sprayed by air jets from outlets 16 and by an axial flow fan 24 which is of a smaller radius than the scattering edge so as not to draw paint through itself but provide an air stream which will draw paint into it forward of the fan and so ensure a more even paint distribution on the workpiece. The fan blades may be surrounded by a ring 26. Both the fan and scattering edge are mounted on a rotor 17 driven by an electric motor 12.</p> |
