PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an ink adhesion amount to nozzle opening surfaces of a head.SOLUTION: A printer comprises: a head having a plurality of nozzles for discharging ink that contains thermoplastic resin particles and has viscosity of 2.1 mPa-s or more at 50°C, a plurality of pressure chambers and a plurality of driving elements; a medium that is ink-non-absorbent; a heating section for heating the medium; and a control section for applying a driving signal to the plurality of driving elements. A discharge waveform generated by the driving signal comprises: a first expansion element for expanding the plurality of pressure chambers; a contractile element for contracting the pressure chambers expanded by the first expansion element; a second expansion element for expanding the pressure chambers contracted by the contractile element; a third expansion element for further expanding the pressure chambers expanded by the second expansion element; and a connection element for connecting a terminus of the second expansion element and a starting end of the third expansion element by applying the same potentials. |
