PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode tip for spot welding which can expand a proper current range of spot welding (weld lobe) by more surely preventing dust generation.SOLUTION: An electrode tip for spot welding comprises a central part made of a copper-based material and an outer edge part made of a material having an electrical resistivity 1 &OHgr; m or more and a thermal conductivity of 80 W/(m K) or more (for example, AlN, BeO, SiC-BeO and the like). As a result, by pressurizing the outer periphery of a nugget area, spouting of molten metal from between plates can be inhibited to prevent generation of inner dust, and by efficiently cooling the surface of a metal plate to be welded from its outer edge part, expansion of the molten metal to the surface of the metal plate to be welded can be inhibited to prevent generation of surface dust. |
