Provided are a device having a simple configuration and performing highly accurate demosaic processing and a method. An attention local region, which is a region to be processed, is selected from an RAW image, and a reference color image based on an input image is generated. A similar local region having a phase different from that of the attention local region and determined, based on the reference color image, to have a high degree of similarity to the attention local region is also selected. By a combining process for combining the attention local region and the similar local region, an RGB-setting local region image is also generated in which RGB pixel values are each set to each of the pixel positions of the pixels constituting the attention local region. By combining the RGB-setting local region images corresponding to different attention local regions, an RGB image is also generated in which RGB pixel values are each set to each of the pixel positions of the pixels constituting the input RAW image. |
