摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial composition that exhibits a sufficient antibacterial activity to bacteria in food and drink even at low concentrations of active ingredients to the extent that the active ingredients do not affect a flavor of the food and drink, and at the same time provide the antibacterial composition having a bacteriostatic effect even at comparatively high pH region in which microorganisms and bacteria tend to easily grow.SOLUTION: A composition of this invention comprises an Angelica keiskei chalcone and a vitamin B1 as active ingredients, and a method of suppressing growth of bacterial uses the Angelica keiskei chalcone and vitamin B1.
