PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance efficiency of compression encoding of a RAW moving picture.SOLUTION: The moving picture compression apparatus includes an acquisition unit, an image conversion unit, and a compression processing unit. The acquisition unit acquires a RAW moving picture associated, in the image capturing order, with a plurality of frames where the pixels of three color components, which are different in accordance with the color arrangement of two row two column, are arranged periodically. The image conversion unit separates a first pixel group corresponding to the first color component of odd rows and a second pixel group corresponding to the first color component of even rows, respectively, out of target frames, and arranges a first image including the first pixel group and a second image including the second pixel group alternately in the time axis direction. The compression processing section performs intra-image prediction encoding compression of the first and second images. |
