<p>Provided is a support structure that makes highly efficient application of vibrational energy to a tool possible by supporting a vibrating complex, which comprises the tool and an ultrasonic vibrator, with a high degree of stability and limiting the leakage of ultrasonic vibrational energy generated by the ultrasonic vibrator to the support (securing support) for the complex to a low level. A support structure for engaged support that results from attaching flanges to a tool-equipped ultrasonic vibrator and bringing one surface of the flanges into contact in a stressed state with separately provided flanged support surfaces formed on a securing body. The flanges on the ultrasonic vibrator are not bonded to the flanged support surfaces of the securing body and have a configuration such that the flanges of the ultrasonic vibrator, when engaged and supported by being in contact with the support surfaces of the securing body, ultrasonically vibrate in the flange thickness direction when the ultrasonic vibrator is vibrating.</p> |
