PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser diode module which radiates ultraviolet (UV) light to a light emitting element end surface and cleans the end surface even during the operation of an LD module, and to provide a cleaning method of the light emitting element end surface.SOLUTION: In a laser diode module 10, a laser diode chip 11 is housed in a housing 13, an optical fiber 12 extends from the exterior of the housing 13 to the interior through an optical fiber sealing portion 13a, and optical output of the laser diode chip 11 is coupled to the optical fiber 12. The laser diode module 10 includes an incidence part 16a, which allows UV light to enter from the lateral side of the optical fiber 12, at the exterior of the housing 13 and may radiate the UV light to a light emitting end surface 11a of the laser diode chip 11 through the optical fiber sealing portion 13a. |
