PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a maintenance method of a surface of a substrate consisting of an inorganic system member, which protects the surface of the substrate, at the same time maintains a sense of beauty, obscures a fingerprint specially easily-noticeable as a pollution, further facilitates to remove the fingerprint left thereon, and furthermore, can remove easily a coating agent for protection from the substrate when the necessity of a maintenance and repair due to damages or the like occurs. SOLUTION: The maintenance method of the surface of the substrate consisting of the inorganic system member provided on the inner and outer packages of an object is provided. First, a silane coupling agent in which as a primer an organic functional group is an epoxy group is coated on the surface of the substrate, and thereafter, the coating agent for protection which contains the following (a) and (b), and in which the wt.% of (a)+(b) in a solid content is ≤100 wt.% and ≥40 wt.%, and in a blend ratio of (a) and (b), (a) is 0-100%, and (b) is 0-100% is coated.
