1298793 Removing particles from gases FARR CO 27 April 1971 [4 May 1970] 11720/ 71 Heading B1T An inertia filter for removing dust from gases comprises a housing 10 containing a plurality of V-shaped filter units 11, each consisting of two converging walls 15 having therein a plurality of curved lateral passages 28 for clean air, the entrances to which face downstream. At the closed end of the units there is communication via a slit with dust removal ducts '19. The diverging passages between adjacent converging units provide the clean air exit passages. Each side wall 15 slides into place between runners and plates 16, 17 and sealing plates 61 of concave section are fitted at the inflow end to seal between adjacent units. A central baffle plate 46 may be fitted in each filter unit.
