Method and device for producing cans from can blanks by pressure forming

The method involves carrying out a pressure forming process for producing a can, during which a can blank is placed in a die plate (8) and subsequently a force is exerted on the can blank by a stamp (7). The stamp executes a pressure stroke (A), whose position is adjustable relative to die plate. The force exerted on the cup blank by the stamp is measured at a predetermined position (P) of the pressure stroke. The position of the pressure stroke is adjusted relative to die plate depending on the measured force. The measured force is compared with a reference force. An independent claim is included for a device for executing a can producing method.
