The present invention relates to a method for communication on a millimeter wave-optical combination network. A system for optical-wireless combination communication using millimeter waves comprises: a central control unit for transmitting a beacon message converted to an optical signal using an optical link where an uplink and a downlink are distinguished; base stations located in each shield space to receive the beacon message, convert the beacon message to a millimeter wave band signal, and transmit the beacon message, converted to the millimeter wave band signal, by direction using a predetermined width of beam in each shield space; a splitter for transmitting the beacon message, converted to the optical signal, to the base stations and transmitting signals among the base stations, using the optical link; and terminals for receiving the beacon message, converted to the millimeter wave band signal, from the base stations located in each shield space, and communicating with adjacent terminals located in the same shield space or adjacent terminals located in another shield space, based on information included in the beacon message.
