<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a box-shaped packaging material which prevents the generation of paper dust, easily increases safety, surely guarantees quality, and can be used repeatedly, and also to provide a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: This box-shaped packaging material is made of a synthetic resin hollow sheet, is formed with an item storage space 25 inside, and has a packaging material body 2 with an opening 26 for opening the item storage space 25 outwardly at least on one of its faces, and a lid 4 which is made of the synthetic resin hollow sheet, and is mounted openable on the opening 26 of the packaging material body 2 through an engagement means 3.
