PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply power suitable for a light source unit to the light source unit, even when the light source unit having different electrical characteristics is connected to a power supply unit. SOLUTION: In the power supply unit, a classification determination section 150 (classification acquisition section) acquires classification information indicating classification of the light source unit 200 from the light source unit, connected to a connection section 110 (lighting-up connection section) via the connection section 110. A lighting-up control section 160 (power setting section) sets up power supplied to the light source unit 200, on the basis of the classification information.
