PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flywheel emergency shutdown device which can stop the flywheel of a flywheel-type accumulator in a short time, and also whose scale does not depend upon the scale of the flywheel-type accumulator. SOLUTION: The flywheel emergency shutdown device includes the flywheel-type accumulator, a load device, whose load is larger than the system load that the flywheel type accumulator supplies power, a connection destination switching means, which switches the connection destination that the flywheel type accumulator electrically connects to, and a control means, which makes the connection destination switching means connect the flywheel-type accumulator with the load device, when it receives a flywheel emergency stop command, and makes the flywheel type accumulator supply the load device with power.
