The present invention relates to a nickel electrode having an increased surface area and a preparing method thereof and, more particularly, to a nickel electrode having an increased surface area including a porous nickel support, which has been pressure-molded while including nickel powder, and a nickel film or a nickel alloy film formed on the surface thereof. The nickel electrode having an increased surface area according to the present invention not only has excellent physical and chemical stability and mechanical strength but also has excellent performance as the electrode for alkali electrolysis because the nickel electrode has the structure of a porous nickel support, which has been pressure-molded while including nickel powder, and a nickel film or a nickel alloy film formed on the surface of the porous nickel support. The method for preparing a nickel electrode having an increased surface area according to the present invention can produce a nickel electrode having excellent physical and chemical properties and having an increased surface area using low-price raw materials of nickel such as nickel powder and nickel foam. |
