<p>A method of controlling a hybrid powertrain (100, Figure 1) comprising a motor-generator electric unit (500, figure 1) and an internal combustion engine (110, Figure 1), when a drivability shaped torque request 19, TDR and an engine shaped torque request 20, TENG are required, the method comprising the following steps: (i) Calculating 21 the difference between the drivability shaped torque request TDR and the engine shaped torque request TENG. (ii) Verifying 22 if conditions to actuate the motor-generator electric unit (500) to provide a torque equal to the difference calculated are met. (iii) If yes, actuating 23 the motor-generator electric unit (500), to increase by an additional electric torque TEL the available torque to the drive shaft. Preferably an accelerator pedal position is converted into a torque request, this is then filtered using low pass band filtering to give the drivability shaped torque request 19, TDR. This value is then preferably filtered a second time using low pass band filtering to obtain the engine shaped torque request 20, TENG.</p> |
