PURPOSE: A concave topography sensing system using a movement sensor and a method thereof are provided to efficiently sense concave topography such as a volcano crater by determining the number of sensing points and the number of sensors placed on the sensing points based on a 3D spiral model. CONSTITUTION: A three-dimensional spiral model generating unit(110) generates a three-dimensional spiral model by using an Archimedean spiral. A sensing point determining unit(120) determines a sensing point of topography by using a sensing range of a sensor based on the three-dimensional spiral model. A sensor number determining unit(130) determines the number of sensors placed on the sensing point based on a line length of the three-dimensional spiral model. The sensor is a mobile sensor based on a mobile sensor network and transmits position information of the sensor to a neighbor sensor and stores the position information.
