The present invention relates to a channel searching device and method for an image display instrument, the channel searching method comprises: the step for judging whether inputting channel searching order; the step for if inputting the channel searching order, then to adjust bright of the image signal to set grade; and the step for executing channel searching. Also comprises the step for regulating again bright of the image signal, leading it to recover the set grade before executing the channel searching, after the channel searching ending. The present invention decreases bright grade at acertain extent during executing channel searching course, after the channel searching ending, recovering to intrinsic picture bright grade, thereby fully relaxing instability and transition phenomenon of picture arisen in the picture while automatically channel searching, and greatly decreasing fatigue degree of eyesight of user. At the same time during executing the channel searching course, at a certain extent decreasing the corresponding bright and contrast grade, thereby decreasing electricity consumption. |
