According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for manufacturing a solar cell includes a step of preparing a semiconductor substrate including a semiconductor material; a step of forming an impurity layer by doping the semiconductor substrate with an impurity; and a step of forming an electrode electrically connected to the impurity layer. The step of forming the electrode includes a step of forming a metal layer on the impurity layer; and a step of performing a thermal process on the metal layer to form a first layer including a composite formed by the reaction of the semiconductor material with a part of the metal layer adjacent to the semiconductor substrate and form a second layer where the metal layer remains on the first layer.
