<p>The vacuum cleaner nozzle (2) is provided with a base plate (1) having suction opening (3) leading into a suction pipe (4) and with a thread pick-up consisting of a rubber strip (5) and a brush strip (6) parallel to it. The rubber strip (5) is mounted between the suction opening (3) and the brush strip (6) wherein the distance between the two strips (5, 6) is equal to or less than the length of the standard threads and fibres. In this way the threads and fibres which are removed from both the surface and the lower layers of the carpet are picked up by the brush strip during forward movement of the nozzle and are then seized by the rubber strip during backward movement of the nozzle so that with the cooperation of the surface of the carpet they are released from the brush strip and supplied to the suction opening. In this way the brush strip does not become clogged.</p> |
