The present invention relates to a multi-component chimera, HISA70, which comprises the H2A, H2B, H3, H4, A2 and HSP70 from Leishmania infantum. The invention further relates to an immunogenic composition that comprises said multi-component chimera and to the use of said composition in the preparation of a vaccine against Leishmania spp., with a view to conferring protection against leishmaniosis, including cutaneous leishmaniosis and visceral leishmaniosis, in mammals.
