Step by step feeder for multistage press - has pairs of rail grippers for workpieces driven for different feeding operations

The arrangement is used for stp by step feeding of workpieces along a number of stations of a multistage press. The travelling paths of the rail gripping elements are adapted for opening and closing and for carrying out various tasks at the cutting and forming stations of the multistage press. The cyclically driven gripping rail pairs push the workpieces in succession and their closing and opening movements can be of a different nature. A single drive unit is used for actuating these gripping elements the different kinds of transmission elements. Alternatively separate drives can be used for generating these movements. Shafts with gears with different numbers of teeth can be used for transmission of movements.
