The car seat is adjusted for height by cam levers (8a) at the front and rear of the squab, with the setting of the lever altering the spacing between the squab frame and the seat support. In order to provide a sealed mechanism, with no sliding fittings, which may be jam, the levers are pivoted with their upper ends on fixed pivots (4) on the squab frame. These pivots are formed by simple tags (6) welded to the frame. The other ends of the levers are fitted with control knobs (13) mounted in the side flanges (9a) of the seat support, which does not move vertically. The system does not jam normally and has no slots etc. in which the operator could mutilate his fingers.
|
