Derrick tackle for heavy loads - with profiled boom head having pivoted load block and pivoted support points

The end of the load boom (2) of the derrick has a T- shaped fixed fitting whose two lateral arms (3) provide the pivot connections (5) for the two support slings from which the boom is suspended, between two support posts (1). The front of the T shaped fitting has a third extension (4) from which the upper block (9) of the lifting tackle is suspended, and provided about a transverse, horizontal axis. This allows the derrick to sling heavy loads through the posts on either side of the boom, without having to readjust the tackle. The system also allows triple blocks to be used in a simple configuration.
