SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGING BATTERY

Disclosed are a battery management system and a management method thereof. The system includes: a first cooling passage which circulates in a radiator and a power electronic (PE) component; a second cooling passage which is connected to the first cooling passage in parallel and circulates in a peltier device for heating or cooling a overcooled or overheated battery; an opening/closing valve which controls the opening/closing of each passage at each node of the cooling passages; a refrigerant pump which controls the circulation of a refrigerant; and a control unit which controls the opening/closing valve and the refrigerant pump to make the refrigerant circulate in the PE component and the peltier device in case of overcooling or to make the refrigerant circulate in the radiator and the peltier device in case of overheating.
