A visual inspection system (100) includes a remote end (110) which is moved through a conduit (1) having a flexible pushrod (400). The remote end (110) includes at least one carriage assembly (130) having an encoder (140) indicating the distance the remote end (110) is moved inside the conduit (1). The visual inspection system (100) includes a longitudinal camera (150) which identifies the view observed downwards along the length of the conduit (1), and at least one horizontal camera (160) which is appropriate to visually inspect the inner surface (3) of the conduit (1).
