1427949 Aromatising coffee extracts GENERAL FOODS CORP 28 Sept 1973 [20 June 1973] 45628/73 Heading A2B Grinder gas released by the disruption of the cellular structure of freshly roasted coffee is passed downward in turbulent flow through a vertical scraped-wall heat exchanger cooled to below -80‹C, for example by liquid nitrogen, at such a flow rate that most of the gas is condensed, the wall condensate is removed and allowed to fall to the bottom of the exchanger where it is combined with a liquid glyceride in a ratio of 0.5-1.5 parts by weight condensate to 1 part glyceride moisture is removed from the mixture to below 0.5 wt %, and the resulting low-moisture mixture is combined with coffee extract.
