<p>PURPOSE: Scattering ferrum component collecting device and a controlling method thereof are provided to have an effect of improving the collect rate of the ferrum component by collecting the ferrum component from a dust which is generated during iron manufacturing of a steel mill. CONSTITUTION: A scattering ferrum component collecting device comprises: a duct (110) in which fluid paths (111,112) are formed; a suction fan (120) which is arranged inside the duct and inhales a dust which is generated during iron manufacturing; a magnetic force generator (130) which is arranged in the lower part of the suction fan and collects ferrum component which is attached in the magnetic force generator by dropping ferrum component when power supply is switched off after attaching a ferrum component in the dust which is generated during iron manufacturing when the power supply is switched on; and a control unit (140) which supplies power to the magnetic force generator and blocked. A controlling method of the scattering ferrum component collecting device comprises: a step of supplying the power source to magnetic force generator; a step of attaching the ferrum component of the dust which is generated during iron manufacturing in the magnetic force generator by operating the suction fan; and a step of collecting the ferrum component by dropping down ferrum component which is attached to the magnetic force generator with powering down the magnetic force generator.
