Disclosed are a carbon light emitting body and a manufacturing method thereof. The carbon light emitting body is manufactured by thermally treating glacier carbon powder, glucose, and a solvent in a reactor by a solvothermal method. According to the present invention, the carbon light emitting body can be manufactured at a relative low temperature and a low pressure by the solvothermal method and the properties of the carbon light emitting body can be controlled according to a solvothermal treatment period.
