Disclosed are a system and a method for registering digital original content. The system comprises: a client terminal for providing user information and a digital signature on the digital content to register the digital content as the digital original content; a content initializer for receiving the user information and the digital signature, assembling the received user information and digital signature with a PKI key, initially generating an original checking key, giving a serial number to the generated original check key and providing the original check key to which the serial number is given; an international certification calculating server for generating the PKI key, providing the PKI key to the content initializer in advance, generating the original check key on the digital content after its initial generation and providing the original check key; a content registration server for assembling the original check key, provided from the content initializer or the international certification calculating server, with the digital content and generating the digital original content; a content distribution server for converting the digital original content into types of content usable in multiple devices and distributing the converted content; and a domestic and a calculating server for each country certification for receiving the original check key from the content initializer or the international certification calculating server and certifying the original with respect to the digital content requested by a client terminal.
