A portable device for measuring suspended load of natural water comprises a light source and unit for light intensity detection. The light source is made as a light-emitting diode, and arranged in portable cell unit together with light intensity detection unit. The light intensity detection unit is made as electric circuit comprising a photodiode and milliamperemeter in inverted amplifier mode.
