摘要 An array substrate in an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to obtain a good operation characteristic and lower the probability of defect generation by providing a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) having a big channel width-to-length ratio and a simple structure. An array substrate in an LCD comprises a substrate(100), gate lines(104), data lines(118), TFTs(T), and pixel electrodes(124). The substrate comprises a plurality of pixel areas which are defined by the crossing of the gate lines and the data lines. Each of the TFTs comprises a gate electrode(102), an active layer(110), a source electrode(114), and a drain electrode(116). The gate electrode is connected with a gate line. The active layer is formed on the gate electrode. The source electrode, formed on the active layer, consists of a portion of a data line and a vertical portion vertically extended from the data line. The drain electrode, isolated parallel with the source electrode, exposes the active layer through the isolated space in the shape of "L". The pixel electrodes respectively are located at the pixel areas. Each pixel electrode contacts with each drain electrode.
