PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for further performing space optimization in a storage device using a storage space optimization method, such as thin provisioning.SOLUTION: A set of empty blocks to be released from a data structure maintained by a hypervisor of a virtualized computer system is identified, an empty block in the set is allocated to a file. The empty block allocated to the file is marked as being used in the data structure, and a command is issued to a logical block device to release the allocation of the empty block allocated to the file. |
