The system (100) has a light distribution unit (200) connected to a light source (110) through an optical transmission line. Another optical transmission line is connected between the light distribution unit and memory modules (131, 133, 135, 137). One of multiple optical converters (132, 134, 136, 138) is connected to the latter optical transmission lines. The output optical transmission lines are connected to the electrical optical converters, where each output optical transmission line outputs an electrical optical converted signal. An independent claim is also included for a method for distributing light between a light source and memory modules.
