PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the influence of a cycle slip in a coherent communication system.SOLUTION: An optical signal constituted of SYNC bursts having predetermined prescribed periodicity and a plurality of known codes arranged at predetermined prescribed positions between the continuous SYNC bursts is received. The received signal is divided into data blocks. Each data block includes at least data codes and a set of check codes corresponding to the plurality of known codes arranged at predetermined positions between each pair of continuous SYNC bursts included in the signal. Each data block is processed, and a cycle slip is detected. When the cycle slip is detected, a set of check codes of the data block are inspected, and a first slipped check code is specified, and phase correction is performed to the data codes between the first slipped check code and the final data code of the data block. |
