PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: fatty acid derivatives of glucocorticoids for use in treatment for inflammations, steroid resistant inflammations, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD); and pharmaceutical preparations containing the same.SOLUTION: Unsaturated fatty acid derivatives of glucocorticoids represented by the specified formula exhibit: 22 times more potent inhibition of the cytokine GM-CSF release than fluticasone propionate; 7 times less side effects represented by activation of GRE elements; and activity in steroid resistant systems.
