The furniture side sections are hinged together by profiled strips joined together by a flexible film and fixed on one lengthwise side to a furniture side. The profiled strips have a groove for the back of the furniture (1, 2). The two strips have connections which are detachable and which hold together the backs of the furniture when flapped together. The connections consist of a groove and a sprung hooked strip and recess, or of adhesive fibres or strips or adhesive. At least one of the plastic strips has a projecting abutment strip projecting between the two strips.
