A length-adjustable tube (10) in particular for sticks, such as ski sticks, trekking sticks, cross-country ski sticks, and Nordic walking sticks, is described, with at least one outer tube (12) and an inner tube (11) which is insertable telescopically into the outer tube (12) in order to adjust the tube length, and with an expanding device (15) which is held at the insertion end of the inner tube (11) and with which the inner tube (11) is clampable axially in the outer tube (12) and which has an expanding element (16) which can be pushed apart radially and is provided with a female taper (27), and an inner element (17) which is provided with an opposed male taper (22) and is accommodated in an axially displaceable manner in the expanding element (16), and an axially directed adjustment screw (18) which is held on the inner tube (11) for rotation therewith and is operatively connected to an internally threaded ball (21) in the inner element (17), wherein the expanding element (16) has a thread-free passage opening (37) through which the adjustment screw (18) passes. The design here is characterized in that a clamping section (1) is arranged on or in the expanding element (16), said clamping section, in the relaxed state, having a greater radius (r2) in the radial direction, at least in the region of a contact surface (2), than the radius (r1) of the expanding element (16), in the expanding region (36) thereof, and in that, at least in the region of the contact surface (2), the clamping section (1) is elastically offsettable or displaceable inwards towards the axis (A) and at least as far as the radius (r1) of the expanding element (16) counter to a restoring force. |
