SURGICAL ADAPTER ASSEMBLY FOR USE BETWEEN SURGICAL HANDLE ASSEMBLY AND SURGICAL END EFFECTORS Abstract Adapter assemblies (200) are provided for selectively interconnecting a surgical end effector (300) that is configured to perform at least a pair of functions and a surgical device (100) that is configured to actuate the end effector (300), wherein the adapter assembly (200) includes an adapter knob housing (202) configured and adapted for connection with the surgical device (100) and to be in operative communication with each of the at least one rotatable drive shaft (216) of the surgical device (100), the adapter knob housing (202) defining a lumen (202a) extending longitudinally therethrough and a ring gear (202d) formed in an inner surface of the lumen (202a) of the adapter knob housing (202), the ring gear (202d) defining an internal array of gear teeth (274) which are engaged with a spur gear (216a) of a rotatable drive shaft (216). The adapter knob housing (202) may be a unitary member and may be formed of plastic. |
