PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of stably forming high-quality images.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises a reflective optical sensor having an illumination system including 11 light-emitting parts, an illumination optical system including 11 microlenses for illumination, a light-receiving optical system including 11 microlenses for receiving light, and a light-receiving system including 11 light-receiving parts. A printer control device, in detecting toner density of a plurality of rectangular patterns, for a rectangular pattern with toner density predicted to be lower than 0.25(mg/cm), calculates the toner density from M1 (relative value), and for a rectangular pattern with toner density predicted to be higher than 0.25(mg/cm), calculates the toner density from M2/M1 (relative value). |
