PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound detection device and a program capable of easily detecting a sound packet to be transmitted to an audio network.SOLUTION: A packet detection module 31 included in a sound detection device 10 detects a sound packet from an input signal of LAN cables 11 and 12 (connectors) connected to an audio network 100, and outputs the detected sound packet to an acoustic signal extraction module 32. The acoustic signal extraction module 32 extracts a digital acoustic signal from the sound packet detected by the packet detection module 31. The sound detection device 10 comprises an addition processing module 33 and a D/A circuit 34 as communication means notifying a user of the fact that the digital acoustic signal is extracted. The extracted digital acoustic signal is outputted from an output connector 14 as a sound.
