STITCHED CARBON FIBER BASE MATERIAL AND WET PREPREG USING SAME

The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a stitched carbon fiber base material which exhibits excellent form stability and shapability and which ensures excellent handleability in processing a wet prepreg in a CFRP manufacturing step and facilitates the production of a three-dimensional product; and a wet prepreg using the same. Sheet materials (1) are each made by arranging carbon fiber yarns (11) having a prescribed width in such a state that the carbon fiber yarns (11) are present in parallel with each other, while the arrangement direction of carbon fiber yarns (11) in each sheet material (1) is adjusted to an angle of ±30° to ±60°to the direction in which the knitting of a stitching yarn (2) proceeds. The lengthwise elongation of the stitched carbon fiber base material in a case wherein a load of 5N is applied to the base material is adjusted to 4% or less, and that in a case wherein a load of 25N is applied thereto is adjusted to 10% or more, each load being applied per inch of the width of the base material in the direction in which the knitting of the stitching yarn (2) proceeds.
