Electronic weighing scales (1) comprising four feet, four strain gauges, an electronic control unit (4) and a display (5), the gauges being combined in pairs in first and second Wheatstone bridges (31, 32), a first intermediate point (51) of the bridge being selectively connected via a switch (T1) to an intermediate voltage source (Vi), the first and second outputs (73, 74) of the amplifiers being summed by the electronic control unit in order to deduce a weight of an object present on the device therefrom, an indication being given of the off-centeredness of the user on the weighing scales.
