[Problem] To provide a waveform tracking device whereby it is possible to reliably set an accurate tracking commencement point. [Solution] A bone strength diagnostic device (1) comprises oscillators (24), a determination index calculation unit (37), a tracking commencement point setting unit (38), and a tracking execution unit (39). A plurality of the oscillators (24) are positioned in a line to acquire echo signals of a transmitted ultrasound beam. The determination index calculation unit (37) calculates a determination index which represents the likelihood that the echo signals are reflected waves from the surface of a cortical bone (10). The tracking commencement point setting unit (38) sets a tracking commencement point at a signal waveform timing corresponding to the echo signal which one of the plurality of oscillators (24) has received, the determination index thereof satisfying a prescribed condition. The tracking execution unit (39) sets tracking points in sequences for the echo signals which are acquired from the other oscillators (24) with the tracking commencement point as a starting point.
