PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieval system which has not existed before by effectively using positional information to be added to image data.SOLUTION: At first, in a retrieval server 3, a map database and an image file database are held. Positional information is added to an image file managed by the image file database. When character string information is input as a retrieval condition, the retrieval server accesses the map database to acquire the positional information corresponding to a position to be indicated by the character string information, and accesses the image file database with the positional information as a retrieval condition to retrieve the image file where the corresponding position information is added. Then, the retrieved image file is returned as a retrieval result. |
