PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal EGR amount calculation device for internal combustion engine, capable of calculating an internal EGR amount appropriately and easily depending on the valve timing of an inlet valve and/or an exhaust valve even if the timing is changed, and capable of increasing the calculation accuracy of an internal EGR amount.SOLUTION: An internal EGR amount calculation device 1 for an internal combustion engine 3 includes an ECU 2. The ECU 2 calculates a reference internal EGR amount GEGR1_0, which is a burned gas amount remaining in a cylinder 3a, when a valve timing of an inlet valve 4 and an exhaust valve 5 is at a predetermined timing (step 2), calculates an internal EGR change amount DGEGR1, which is a variation amount of an inflow and of an outflow when the valve timing of the inlet valve 4 and the exhaust valve 5 is at the predetermined timing, depending on the valve timing (step 9), and calculates an internal EGR amount GEGR1 by adding the internal EGR change amount DGEGR1 to the reference internal EGR amount GEGR1_0 (step 10). |
