<p>1525993 Surgical drape JOHNSON & JOHNSON 28 Jan 1976 [29 Jan 1975] 03289/76 Heading A5R A surgical drape for covering part of a patient's head comprises a flexible sheet having a hand receiving pocket formed at one end whereby a nurse can manipulate the drape from its folded state with her hands in the pocket and secure it to the patient using an adhesive strip 60 attached to the underside of the sheet beneath the pocket. The pocket is formed by a cuff 32 that is either integrally formed or separately attached at one end of the sheet so as to be connected with the sheet top edge 24 at the cuff top edge 34. The cuff is also in one form provided with longitudinal lines of securement 46, 46' to the sheet laterally inwardly of the sheet side edges to form the pocket. In another form a separate envelope is secured to the cuff underside and sheet top surface. The pocket may be reinforced by an overlaid strip laminate of liquid absorbent and impermeable plies and the cuff need only be as wide as the pocket. For packaging and storage the sheet is folded about fold lines 1F-6R, the number and letter designating the order of the fold and whether it is forward or reverse.</p> |
